Goldstream CEO Dan Coolican Hosts Seminar On Achieving Goals
CEO at Goldstream Incorporated, Dan Coolican hosted a seminar this week focusing on achieving goals, to help the firm’s staff and contractors to follow through on their goals and reach their full potential.
The entrepreneur and business owner organised the seminar after being inspired by the guest speakers at a recent leadership conference he attended in Manchester on Sunday, June 11th. He has earmarked the undertaking of the following activities with the view to achieving goals successfully.
Breaking out of your comfort zone.
Most people perceive the unknown as threatening and are reluctant to get out of their comfort zone. Neale Donald Walsch once said, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” Mr Coolican urges all young professionals to take the leap and break out of their comfort zone. “The greatest risk you can take in life is never taking one,” commented Mr Coolican.
Continued professional development.
“Knowledge is power, and the more you know the further you can go,” argues Mr Coolican. At Goldstream Incorporated they are committed to continued learning, and they frequently offer educational workshops and seminars to help their staff and contractors expand their knowledge and skill-set – providing them with the tools for success. Mr Coolican believes that those with a thirst for knowledge have a higher percentage of success rates when it comes to achieving their goals.
Finding a mentor.
“Success is rarely a solo effort. Once I found a mentor who I trusted to advise and guide me, that was when my career took off. Surrounding yourself with people who force you to level up is vital in business, and a good mentor plays a key role,” said Mr Coolican. One of the biggest reasons people fail to follow through on their goals is because of accountability, argues Mr Coolican. The entrepreneur and CEO at Goldstream Incorporated believes that as well as providing advice and guidance, a good mentor will hold someone accountable to their goals and drive them to follow keep going when they feel like giving up.
Making goals specific, or time sensitive.
It is critical that goals are clear and well defined. If a goal isn’t specific it won’t provide direction, and it can become challenging to persist. Mr Coolican believes that people need to make it as easy as possible to reach their goals by defining exactly where they want to get to, and making goals specific is imperative. “Specific goals provide a focus and a clear end goal to work towards,” commented Mr Coolican.
At Goldstream Incorporated, goal setting is an instrumental part of their business strategy. The outsourced sales and marketing specialists encourage their staff and contractors to set both long and short-term goals and to have weekly evaluations.
